Inter Milan Finalizes Benjamin Pavard Deal with Bayern Munich

Inter Milan has announced the signing of French defender Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich on a five-year contract. The 25-year-old, who can play as a right-back or a center-back, joins the Serie A champions for a reported fee of €35 million.

Pavard, who was part of France's World Cup-winning squad in 2018, spent three seasons at Bayern, winning three Bundesliga titles, two German Cups, and the Champions League. He made 101 appearances for the Bavarian club, scoring eight goals and providing 12 assists.

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi expressed his delight at securing Pavard's services, saying: "He is a versatile and reliable player, who can adapt to different roles and systems. He has experience at the highest level, and he will add quality and depth to our defense."

Pavard said he was excited to join Inter and thanked Bayern for his time there. He said: "I'm very happy to be part of this great club, which has a rich history and ambitious goals. I want to thank Bayern for everything they have done for me, but I felt it was time for a new challenge. I can't wait to start working with my new teammates and coach."

Pavard is Inter's third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu from AC Milan and goalkeeper Alex Cordaz from Crotone. The Nerazzurri are looking to defend their Serie A title and challenge for the Champions League under Inzaghi, who replaced Antonio Conte in June.
